Drying process steps of yellow cauliflower dryer

Release time:

Daylily drying machine is a drying equipment used to process daylily. It is mainly used to dry daylily so that daylily can be dried. So how should we dry daylily? Today I will share the steps of daylily drying process.

  Daylily brief introduction:

Daylily, also known as daylily, lemon daylily, forget-me-not, belongs to the Liliales, Liliaceae perennial herb, the root is nearly fleshy, and the middle and lower parts often have spindle-shaped swellings. The scapes vary in length, the pedicels are short, the flowers are many, the perianth is light yellow, orange-red, and black-purple; the capsule is blunt triangular oval, and the flowering and fruiting period is May and September.

Daylily is sweet and cool in nature, and has the effects of stopping bleeding, reducing inflammation, clearing heat, promoting dampness, digesting food, improving eyesight, and calming the nerves. It is effective for vomiting blood, bloody stools, urinary obstruction, insomnia, and milk retention, and can be used as a tonic after illness or childbirth.

  Daylily processing steps

The picked flowers should be processed in time. First, steam them with high heat to denature the enzymes and inhibit their activity: if they are left for too long, the flower buds will gradually open under the action of enzymes when they encounter suitable temperatures, which will affect the quality of drying. Hot steaming is the key link in drying daylily.

Before hot steaming, the raw materials should be selected, impurities should be removed, and the opened flowers should be picked out. Place the selected flowers on the steamer, boil the water with high heat first, then quickly put them in the steamer, and after the steam comes out, switch to low heat and steam for about 10 minutes before taking them out of the steamer. During hot steaming, the steamer should be kept at a certain distance from the water surface. If the distance is too close, the flower buds that are touched by boiling water will crack and fall apart, thus losing their drying value.

The degree of hot steaming is generally controlled to make the flower buds "raw inside and cooked outside" about half-ripe. Artificial drying can be slightly rawer than natural drying. The flower buds that are out of the steamer are required to be bright yellow, light yellow without green, and covered with small water droplets. The stacking thickness after being out of the steamer is reduced by 1/3 compared with the stacking of fresh vegetables. It is slightly soft and tough when pinched by hand. When the middle of the flower bud is picked up with chopsticks, the two ends are slightly bent downward. The slightly raw yellow flowers after hot steaming should be quickly picked out and placed in a container separately to cover it tightly, and the residual heat should be used to make them meet the requirements; if they are still not ripe, they can be picked out and steamed again. After steaming, they can be placed in a ventilated and cool place to cool naturally. If conditions permit, the yellow flowers can be cooled and dried for about 4 hours without being turned over by the steamer before being dried.

  Daylily Drying Process

Put the baking tray (daylily 5 kg/m2) in a drying room at 80℃. Since the daylily absorbs a lot of heat, the temperature of the drying room will drop to 60℃--65℃. Keep this temperature for 10-12 hours, then naturally cool down to 50℃ until it is dried. Pay attention to moisture removal during drying and keep the relative humidity below 65%. The dehydrated daylily will not be crispy when held tightly by hand, and will naturally spread out after letting go, so that it is better not to stick to each other. If the dried daylily is slightly exposed to the sun, the color can be improved.

  Precautions

The dehydrated daylily still needs to be fumigated with traditional sulfur to prevent mold and insects, which can also improve the color and increase the preservation rate of vitamins.

Before fumigation, it should be fully selected according to the product quality requirements, and some water should be sprayed after removing the unqualified flowers to make them moist again. Then place it on a drying tray and then on the rack in the sulfur fumigation room. First, place the red-hot iron plate or charcoal in the center of the sulfur fumigation room, then sprinkle sulfur powder on it, let it burn fully and produce smoke, and then close the doors and windows. The amount of sulfur used for fumigation is 30-40 grams of sulfur for 10 kilograms of daylily, and the fumigation time is 3-5 hours.
